Because of an equipment failure, La Plata County will extend the temporary closure of the yard waste and mulch area at the Bayfield Convenience Center until Wednesday. (The closure was originally scheduled through Oct. 2.) The center is located at 4496 County Road 223 in Bayfield.
For the safety of work crews, do not drive up the road to the yard waste area until it is reopened.
