Bayfield's first Block Party of the year kicks off Thursday

Pine River Times file photo<br><br>This is the third annual summer for the Bayfield Block Parties, scheduled this year for May 17, June 21 and July 19.

The third annual Bayfield Block Parties will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 17 and is free to the public.

This event is sponsored by the Bayfield Chamber of Commerce with support from the Town of Bayfield and volunteers.

The event takes place on Mill Street, and booth space is free for all vendors and non-profits. Vendors need a Town of Bayfield business license and fill out an application and they can participate in all three parties scheduled for this summer.

Thursday's event will feature live rock and roll music by Carny Bones, along with activities for children, and a beer garden on the street. Beer tent sales will benefit the Be Frank Foundation.

Upcoming block parties are set for June 21 and July 19.
