Simegn Abnet Yeshanbel, a 32-year old from Bayfield, took 31st overall and fourth among women at the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon last Sunday in Minneapolis and Saint Paul.
Yeshanbel, who is originally from Ethiopia, finished in a time of 2 hours, 38 minutes and 16 seconds. The race was won in 2:33:04 by 23-year-old Sinke Biyadgilgn, who resides in Washington D.C. Albuquerque-based Serkalem Abraha was second. The 29-year-old finished in 2:33:10. Santa Fe’s Sarah Kiptoo was third, as the 29-year-old finished in 2:33:15.
