Purgatory holding fundraiser Sunday
Purg is reporting 35 open trails and a 23-inch base this month, with a possible snowstorm this week adding to the powder.
Purgatory is holding benefit day on Sunday, with discounted lift tickets.
Portions of proceeds will benefit this year's charity partners, the Be FRANK Foundation; the La Plata Family Centers Coalition, which includes the Bayfield Family Center; Heart Safe La Plata; and Trails 2000.
Tickets prices are $45 for adults, $32 for teens 13-17, $25 for children 6 to 12; $32 for seniors 65-79, and $25 for seniors 80 and over.
A punch pass for all four benefit days is $125.
Coupons are available at skipurg.com/benefitday or in the Durango Telegraph. Skiers also can show the coupon on a smartphone at the ticket window.
