I read the story titled “When bears attack” (Herald, June 2). After reading the story and seeing the accompanying photos the headline should’ve read, “When humans are ignorant and have no regard for their surroundings”.
Sadly, the bear paid the ultimate price for the illegal campers’ stupidity as well as their total lack of respect for everyone, including themselves. I hope they pay a hefty fine for the trouble they caused and are made to clean up the mess they made.
Those who don’t know how to keep a camp, even an illegal one, have absolutely no business being in the woods.
