Bear Smart Durango recently announced that it will form a steering committee in response to the increase of human-bear conflicts in the area and residents and stakeholders are being sought to join as members.
The committee will help develop educational programs in the community, broaden attractant-removal programs, improve partnerships, assist with policy efforts and create fundraising opportunities.
