Friends of the Crane and Phelps families have established a benefit account at Pine River Valley Bank to help pay for travel and other expenses for Aria Crane. Crane is being treated at Children's Hospital in Denver for a reoccurrence of Hodgkin's Disease. Crane is a sixth-grade student at Bayfield Middle School and the daughter of Brian and Wendy Crane. The BMS student council raised money for her family by charging students $1 to wear hats at school. A student-teacher basketball tournament and bake sale also raised funds. Donations also have been made by groups from Ignacio schools, where Brian Crane works as a computer administrator.
Donations can be made at any Pine River Valley Bank branch or by calling the bank at 884-9583.
