Best bets for the weekend include the Mancos Girl Scout Fall Color Run and the Durango Thanksgiving Farmers Market on Saturday.
The first-ever Mancos Girl Scout Fall Color Run kicks off at 9 a.m. with check-in starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Mancos Public Library, 211 E. First St.
Runners are encouraged to wear white shirts because at every mile they will be sprayed with colored corn starch. The race is not timed, and all levels of running and walking are welcome.
Race finishers will receive a turkey medal, and there will be refreshments after the run. The first 50 people to sign up get a water bottle.
After the race, there will be a pie auction with a variety of Thanksgiving-themed pies made by the Girl Scouts. Proceeds will go toward helping the girls visit NASA’s overnight camp in Houston in the spring.
Online registration is $20 for adults and $10 for ages 8 and younger. Same-day registration increases to $25 for adults and $15 for ages 8 and younger.

Get the last of summer produce and fall favorites at the Thanksgiving Farmers Market, open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave. Local farmers join artisans to provide fresh vegetables, meats, cheeses, handmade goods and more.
The market operates outside in the breezeway at the fairgrounds.
