Best bets this weekend include music and a food drive at Moe’s Starlight Lounge and the Majesty of Christmas concert at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
Moe’s will hold a food drive with musical events throughout the night Friday, including an open jam session followed by dancing and music by Funk Jam and Kaztro.
The event starts at 4:30 p.m. at 937 Main Ave. Bring an unopened, nonperishable food item for Manna, Durango’s soup kitchen, and get a free drink, one per person. The food drive will continue through Saturday.
The Majesty of Christmas concert will take place at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 910 East Third Ave. The event will feature Durango musicians, including soprano Gemma Kavanagh, flutist Rochelle Mann, the Durango Chamber Singers, trumpeter Marc Reed and pianist and organist C. Scott Hagler.
