Christmas Eve is on Sunday and that’s when the best bets for weekend will happen in the area, with a Christmas Eve potluck in Vallecito and a white elephant gift party at Durango Elks Lodge.
A Christmas Eve potluck will be held Sunday at the Lake House Bar and Grill, 17460 County Road 501, in Vallecito.
The bar and kitchen will open at 11 a.m. and NFL football games will be shown until 2 p.m. The Lake House will reopen from 5 to 9 p.m. for the potluck. People who attend the potluck are asked to bring a dish to share.
The event is open to all.

A white elephant gift party will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Durango Elks Lodge, 901 East Second Ave.
Attendees should have a wrapped gift to exchange with others.
