Best bets for the weekend in and around Durango

The best bets for the weekend in Durango will include photo opportunities with Santa on Saturday, a children’s production of “A Charlie Brown Christmas” on Saturday and Sunday, and the Stillwater Music “Winter Wonder Bands” student concert on Sunday.

Children and parents are invited to take photos with Santa “and his Harley” from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Durango Harley-Davidson, 750 South Camino del Rio.

The event is open to all.

For more information, call Catie Bird at 259-0778.

Kids from church programs, including The River Church Sprouts and Kids ministries, will take the stage and give performances of “A Charlie Brown Christmas” by Charles M. Schulz at 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the River Church, 860 Plymouth Drive.

The performance will feature classic music and characters, including Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the rest of the Peanuts gang, as kids act out the story of finding the real meaning of Christmas.

Tickets are sold-out, but people can be added to a waiting list. Those with reserved tickets who are unable to attend are asked to email susan@trcdurango.com to provide a ticket for the next person on the list.

Stillwater Music will present its seventh annual “Winter Wonder Bands” student concert and fundraiser from noon to 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Riverbend Ranch, 27846 U.S. Highway 550.

Youth bands from Stillwater Music will perform a concert, and lunch will be provided by Hot Tomatoes.
