Best bets this weekend will include the Men Who Grill competition Saturday and the Durango Cowboy Poetry Gathering barn dance Sunday.
The 15th annual Men Who Grill competition will be held from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Buckley Park, 1250 Main Ave.
The family-friendly event features all-you-can-eat grilled creations, live music from the Kirk James Blues Band and beer from Steamworks Brewing Co.
Registration is open for amateur grilling teams to compete. Food will be judged by a panel of local judges, and festival attendees will vote for their favorite dish for the competitive People’s Choice category. Teams are encouraged to dress up in costumes and decorate booths to win prizes for best theme and décor.
