La Plata County Humane Society is hosting its annual Powder Hounds Snowboard Art Auction. The auction, Saturday to March 12, features snowboard art created by 18 artists in an online silent auction.
A kickoff bidding party will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Ska Brewing Co. Attendees can meet the artists, view the boards and place bids. Live music will be provided by Rob Webster.

The 17th annual Durango Independent Film Festival runs through the weekend.
