Best bets in and around Durango

Durango Wine Experience is back and will be held this weekend in downtown Durango.

Friday will feature the Walkabout Durango Tasting from 4 to 7 p.m. at various locations. The Grand Tasting will be held from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Smiley Building lawn, 1309 East Third Ave.

The Hawk Tank Business Plan Competition is from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Fort Lewis College.

The competition is open to FLC and San Juan College students and alumni, who will compete for $5,000, and to high school students in the Four Corners, who will compete for $500 cash or $8,000 in scholarships to FLC or SJC.

The first round starts at 8:30 a.m. at Noble Hall 130. The final round is at 1 p.m. at Education Business Hall.
