Best bets in and around Durango

As part of the Southwest Stewardship Series, La Plata Open Space Conservancy will host La Plata County Weed Control Manager Ben Bain for a noxious weed workshop at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Participants will receive the location of the workshop upon registering at https://lposc.org.

Bain will discuss identification and management practices for common invasive species in the area. Chemical, mechanical and biological control methods will be addressed.

Celebrate Durango’s newest theater company, Durango Theatreworks, with its inaugural production, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”

Performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Community Concert Hall.

“Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” is a musical comedy with lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, based on the character of Joseph from the Bible’s Book of Genesis.
