Best bets in and around Durango

The Durango Arts Center, 802 East Second Ave., offers a double feature of sorts Friday.

At 5 p.m., a free opening reception will be held for “That’s So Durango,” which features submissions from community artists.

At 7 p.m., Mary Quinn and Cindy Laudadio-Hill will showcase their comedic improvisation. Tickets for their show are $15 and available at https://bit.ly/3bIv5qV.

A chuck wagon dinner to benefit Durango Cowboy Poetry Gathering will kick off at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Simmons Ranch, 39036 U.S. Highway 160, 2 miles west of Mancos.

Dinner includes London broil, salad, beans, cowboy biscuits and a dessert. The evening features entertainment from Timberline Cowboys, Kitchen Jam Band, Lynne Belle Lewis and Lindy Simmons.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children younger than 12. Tickets are limited and available through advance sales only at www.durangocowboygathering.org.
