The first weekend of November brings excitement for the upcoming ski season.

The 58th annual Hesperus Ski Swap will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave.

Attendees will have more than 10,000 low-price ski gear items to choose from.

Swap proceeds go to the Hesperus Ski Patrol.

Dancing Earth’s touring productions presents “Between Underground and Sky World" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College, 1000 Rim Drive.

The performance follows five young backpackers through an epic journey to survive the apocalypse by seeking ancestral knowledge.

Durango Public Library hosts the Friends of the Library Book Sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the library, 1900 East Third Ave.

Attendees may buy a bag of books for $10, or 1 pound for $1.

All proceeds benefit the Durango Public Library.

The Black Sheep Christian Motorcycle Ministry will provide a free breakfast for the community at Durango Harley-Davidson starting at 9 a.m. until they run out of food. All are welcome.
