Pirates! Theodore Thud and the Quest for Weird Beard

Piedra Vista High School theater program will present “Pirates! Theodore Thud and the Quest for Weird Beard” at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 3 and 4 at Turano Chrisman Performing Arts Theater, 5700 College Blvd.

Join Theodore Thud on an unexpected, “down the rabbit hole”-style adventure. In order to get back to the real world, he must search out the legendary pirate Weird Beard and foil the murderous plans of Mr. Clunky Bones.

The play is family-friendly and for appropriate for all ages. Audience interaction adds another layer of fun to the story as well. Run time for the play is about 45 minutes.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and children. Tickets may be purchased at the box office before each showing.

Mother-Son Dodgeball Tournament

Sycamore Park Community Center encourages mom and sons to get out of the house and get active at its mother-son dodgeball and ice cream social from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 4, at the community center, 1051 E. Sycamore St.

The event not only encourages being more active, it offers families an opportunity to build fun memories together. The theme for the event is “Back to the ’80s” and participants are encouraged to dress in their best ’80s gear.

After the a few games of dodgeball, moms and sons are invited to stick around for the ice cream social.

The Princess Tea

Young women and girls are invited to celebrate the beauty within at The Princess Tea from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Calvary Chapel Farmington, 6925 E. Main St.

The tea focuses on teaching young women and girls about their beauty within. The event will open with performances from a variety of princesses. Lunch will be served, and will then be followed by a discussion on what Godly purity is. The event will also feature speakers sharing their testimonies regarding the different paths they have chosen, and the redeeming power of the Lord in their story.

Tickets are $20 and may be purchased by calling (505) 326-0604. Girls and young women ages 3 and older are invited to attend.

Gnome Trio Painting Classes

Peony and Birch Co. will offer several St. Patrick’s Day-themed painting classes in March. Get creative painting a wooden gnome trio. The class fee covers all supplies needed to complete the project.

Painters will have three opportunities to create their gnomes. Sign up for a class at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 2, at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 4, or at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 8. Classes are held at the Peony and Birch Co. studio, located at 1409 W. Aztec Blvd, Suite 6.

Brookside Buddies Disc Golf

Disc golf enthusiasts are invited to join the Brookside Buddies for disc golf play from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at Brookside Park, 1801 Brookside Dr.

The league welcomes all levels. The temporary nine-hole course will be played through twice using the sanctioned Professional Disc Golf Association rules. Each week will feature a different course setup.

The course will be set at am 8 a.m., with gathering time at 10:30 a.m. and play beginning at 11 a.m. There will be three different pads available for professional, amateur and junior divisions. The entry fee is $10 for professional level players and $1 for amateur level players.
