Animas River Days will take place Friday to Sunday at Santa Rita Park and in downtown Durango.

The festival includes river surfing, stand-up paddling, freestyle kayaking, boatercross, raft and kayak slalom, an inflatable rodeo and a costumed river parade.

There will be a river parade viewing party at 6 p.m. Saturday at Santa Rita Park with a live DJ. Ska Brewing’s Beer Garden will open at noon and remain open throughout the parade.

The event aims to bring the community back together and has purchased silent auction items and other supplies from local businesses.
