Best bets this weekend in and around Durango

The San Juan Basin Ice Bowl will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Tico Time River Resort, north of Aztec.

The San Juan Basin Disc Golf Club will present the first San Juan Basin Ice Bowl in cooperation with ECHO Inc., Tico Time River Resort, the Professional Disc Golf Association and the Ice Bowl Corporation.

The event will be two rounds of 18, and lunch will be provided. Player packs include a T-shirt, a Premium Discraft Supercolor ESP Buzzz 170s disc, swag and a raffle ticket.

This disc golf tournament will be a sanctioned C-tier event, with all proceeds benefiting ECHO food banks and preschool.

Bank of Colorado will host a blood drive at 8 a.m. Friday at the bank, 1199 Main Ave.

All donors will also be tested for COVID-19 antibodies in order to help identify potential convalescent plasma donors who can help those currently battling COVID-19.
