Best bets this weekend include Winter Wonder Bands and “A Christmas Carol.”
Stillwater Music will host its ninth annual Winter Wonder Bands gala performance and fundraiser from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Henry Strater Theatre, 699 Main Ave.
More than 90 students will perform music. Food will be available, as well as a silent auction. This family-friendly, daylong music event will feature Stillwater Music youth bands. Music will range from pop, rock and funk to blues and jazz.
Tickets are $15 for teenagers and adults and $5 for children 12 and younger. The ticket price includes lunch.
This event is sponsored by First Southwest Bank and La Plata Electric Association.
Farmington Civic Center will host Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the center, 200 W. Arrington St.
“A Christmas Carol” is the redemptive story of miserly Ebenezer Scrooge who encounters the ghosts of his own life: Jacob Marley and the Christmas spirits of past, present and future.
