Best bets this weekend include Cirque de los Muertos and The Rocky Horror Picture Show Live.
The Durango Circus will perform Cirque de los Muertos at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Powerhouse Science Center, 1333 Camino del Rio.
This Day of the Dead celebration will transport audiences into the minds of the living and the realm of the dead. Acrobats of all ages from Durango Aerial Arts and Acrobatics will perform aerial feats and acrobatic engagements, and the show will also feature unique characters, jugglers, stilt walkers and more.
Seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Elderly or handicapped patrons should email info@daaacircus.com to reserve seating.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. A bar and cocktail tables will be available for people 21 and older. Tickets are $35 and may be purchased online at www.cirquedelosmuertos.brownpapertickets.com. Children age 3 and younger may attend for free and must sit on the lap of a person older than 18.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show Live will be performed at 7 and 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Henry Starter Theatre, 699 Main Ave.
Join a live cast for a performance of Richard O’Brien’s cult classic. Costumes are encouraged, however weapons (real or fake) and full-face masks that obscure identity or vision are not allowed.
Goody bags with all needed props for the show will be on sale at the door. Attendees should not bring additional outside things, such as rolls of toilet paper, bread or anything else that can be thrown at the stage.
The 7 p.m. Friday performance is an all-ages show. All other performances are 21 and older. Tickets are $25 and may be purchased online at www.henrystratertheatre.com/events-and-tickets.
