Best bets this weekend include the Veterans Float and Picnic and Allen Theatres Drive-In.

VFW, Mountain Waters Rafting, American Legion and Durango Elks Lodge will host the third annual Veterans Float and Picnic from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Santa Rita Park, 149 South Camino del Rio.

The family-friendly event will offer free raft trips and picnics to honor veterans and their families. No registration is required.

Allen Theatres Drive-In will host a double feature of “Evan Almighty” and “The Hangover” at 9 p.m. Friday and a double feature of “Mamma Mia” and “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” at 9 p.m. Saturday at McGee Park in Farmington.

Gates open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the gate. Capacity is limited. Concessions are available for purchase. Admission is $20 per car.
