Best bets this weekend include Zumbathon and the Boys & Girls Club of Farmington Golf Tournament.
The outdoor Zumbathon will take place from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the La Plata County Fairgrounds Picnic Pavilion.
The covered pavilion may be accessed from the southeast end of the Durango Community Recreation Center parking lot, adjacent to the baseball fields.
COVID-19 safety measures include fresh air, available hand sanitizer and mandatory social distancing of 8 feet between students. Masks are required before and after class to socialize.
No dance experience is needed, and everyone age 10 and older is welcome. Local instructors Karla Sluis, Sara Illsley and Donna Middleton will teach easy dance routines to pop songs and world rhythms. Durango Coca-Cola has donated new flavors of Powerade for event participants.
The suggested donation is $10 to $20. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Community Emergency Relief Fund. CERF assists local residents impacted by COVID-19.
