Best bets this weekend include the Chevel Shepherd virtual concert and Derby Day.
Farmington native and “The Voice” winner Chevel Shepherd will hold a virtual concert at 7 p.m. Friday on Shepherd’s Facebook page.
During her time on “The Voice,” Shepherd was mentored by singer Kelly Clarkson. Her debut album, “Everybody’s Got a Story,” was produced by Todd Tidwell, who previously worked with Clarkson.

Derby Day will take place from 5 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday at Fairgrounds Speedway in Cortez.
The derby will feature a cars and trucks demolition derby and the Tough Truck Competition.
The cost for drivers to enter is $50. The cost for pit crew members is $20. All vehicles must pass a basic safety inspection by Live A Little Productions officials.
Gates open at 5 p.m., and events start at 6 p.m.
General admission is $15. Children 5 and younger can attend for free.
