Best bets this weekend include the Pine River Festival and the Muck and Mire Adventure race.
The Pine River Festival, with brewfest and barbecue, will take place from noon to 9:30 p.m. Saturday at Eagle Park in Bayfield.
The brewfest will feature craft beers, ciders, wines and spirits from the Four Corners and beyond. A variety of barbecue will be available to sample and vote on.
Kids activities will be offered at the Be Frank Kid Zone. Local artisans and food vendors will also be on hand with hand-crafted wares and foods. The live music lineup will include local bands and musicians, with national headliner The Accidentals capping off the festival.
This year’s beneficiary of the festival will be The Be Frank Foundation. Proceeds go toward providing scholarships, mentorship opportunities, instruments and quality instruction.
Tickets range from $0-40. Free parking and a shuttle service is available. For more information and tickets, visit www.pineriverfestival.com.
Purgatory Resort will host the Muck and Mire Mud Adventure race from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the resort.
Have fun and get muddy on this challenging 5K course. The race will feature mud pits, a giant slip ’n’ slide, hay bales and climbing walls. A 10K course will also be available, and will test racers’ stamina with 20 obstacles and a course that runs up and down the mountain. For the little mudders, there will be a 1-mile course.
Registration is $55 and includes a race T-shirt, free beer and Coke beverages after the race and a post-race party with live music.
