Best bets this weekend include Durango Old Car Club show, Battle of the Bands and Men Who Grill.
The Durango Old Car Club show will return this weekend from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at its new venue, Sky Ute Casino Resort in Ignacio. After a hiatus last year, the car show will feature a variety of unique and collector cars, as well as a display of Indian Motorcycles. The show expects to draw 150 to 250 cars and trucks in 20 to 25 different classes. At 3 p.m., 100 awards will be presented in various categories, including Best of Show, People’s Choice and Club Choice.
Registration will begin with an ice cream social from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Durango Transit Center and will continue from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Sky Ute Casino west parking lot. The first 150 exhibitors will receive T-shirts, goody bags and door prizes.

Animas City Theatre and Prohibition Herb will launch the Battle of the Bands series at 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Animas City Theatre, 128 E. College Drive. The first round will feature Playing with Skunks, Six Minute Suicide, Profetic Calaveras and NIL. Rounds 2 and 3 will be held July 20 and Aug. 17.
Four bands will perform in each round. The winner of each night will advance to the Battle of the Bands Final on Sept. 21. The winning band will receive $1,000.

Men Who Grill will take place this weekend from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Buckley Park, 1250 Main Ave. This family-friendly event will feature all-you-can-eat grilled foods from amateur grilling teams from around the Four Corners, live music from the Kirk James Blues Band and beer from Steamworks Brewing Co.
Food will be judged by a panel of local judges, and festival attendees can vote for their favorites in the People’s Choice category. Teams who dress up and decorate their booths will compete for the Best Theme/Decor Award.
Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for children ages 5 to 12 and children younger than 5 can attend for free. Proceeds will benefit the Women’s Resource Center.
