Best bets this weekend include the Durango Pride Festival and the Durango Cowboy Poetry Gathering Barn Dance and Picnic.
This year’s ’70s-themed Durango Pride Festival will take place from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Buckley Park, 1250 Main Ave. The festival will feature booths from a variety of local businesses, organizations and nonprofits that support diversity and equality.
Hosted by Scarlett Ultra and Dragrango Royalty Toffee Fae, the Pride Stage will host an evening-long series of music, speakers, drag performances and more. Performers will include comedian Elliot Weber, Mr. Dragrango Ryan, Ms. Dragrango 2018 Aluna Del Rey, Saints Ball and others. There will also be food, drinks and alcoholic beverages from local vendors and restaurants.

After the festival, Starlight Lounge, 8th Ave. Tavern and Down the Rabbit Hole will host free, 21-and-older after-party events from 9 p.m. to close.
Durango Cowboy Poetry Gathering will host the fifth annual Barn Dance and Picnic at the Park youth programs fundraiser from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Rotary Park, 1565 East Second Ave.
This year’s fundraiser will feature live music from the Tim Sullivan Band, with intermission entertainment provided by local youth performers.
Bring your own picnic or buy Angus burgers, brats and sides from the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post for $5. Wine, beer, soda and Cream Bean Berry ice cream will also be available for purchase.
In case of rain, the event will be moved inside the VFW. Bring chairs and blankets. No pets are allowed. Tickets are $15 for adults and teens. Admission is free for children younger than 12. Tickets are available at the door or online at bit.ly/2Xi2IXx.
