Best bets this weekend include Snowdown and Artrageous.
The 42nd annual Snowdown will take place through Sunday at various locations throughout Durango. The festival includes activities and events for all ages and interests, many of which are free.
Friday will feature the Service Industry Scramble where local servers will compete in a messy obstacle course; bed races with onesie-wearing teams of five racing beds down Main Avenue to raise money for the Durango 100 Club; the Snowdown Light Parade, the Snowdown Costume Ball; the Snowdown Follies; and much more.
The Snowdown Balloon Rally and Mass Ascension will kick off Saturday’s events and will be followed by competitions in basketball, pinball, strength, rock crawling, golf, cornhole, bowling and billiards. Finishing off the day is another round of the Follies and the Costume Contest and Dance Party. Closing out the festival on Sunday will be basketball, billiards and poker tournaments, a truck pull and a Super Bowl party.
Some events are for people 21 and older, and certain tournaments have entry fees.

The Farmington Civic Center, 200 W. Arrington St., will host Artrageous at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Artrageous is a unique, interactive art and music experience. Audiences interact with a team of multi-talented artists from the Albuquerque area as they paint at electric speed, creating giant works of art, accompanied by live musical performances, vocals and choreography.
Someone in the audience will take home a painting created live on stage during the performance. Audience members are encouraged to bring T-shirts, sneakers or ball caps and step into the Artrageous Splatter Station at the end of the show to get their gear custom splattered by an artist.
Tickets are $8 to $18 and are available online at www.fmtn.org/Shows or at the box office by calling (505) 599-1148.
