Best bets this weekend include Plazapalooza and Independent Book Store Day.
Powerhouse Science Center and The iAM MUSIC Institute will host Plazapalooza from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Powerhouse, 1333 Camino del Rio.
Celebrate the end of the summer with live outdoor music and local food vendors on the Powerhouse’s plaza. A cash bar will be available. Adhering to local health department and state COVID-19 guidelines, the Powerhouse has created a fun, safe and socially distanced event.
Groups of two to six will be seated at an appropriate table for the size of the party. There will be available hand sanitizer and an outdoor hand-washing sink.
Ruby Blu will play from 2 to 2:45 p.m., followed by (D-J) Calvin from 3 to 3:45 p.m. and Bards In Between from 4 to 5 p.m.

Amy’s Bookcase will celebrate Independent Bookstore Day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the store, 2530 San Juan Blvd., Farmington.
Several local authors will share videos on Amy’s Bookcase’s Facebook page, along with links for national events. Giveaways will be hosted in-store from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and exclusive items will be available for sale, including signed copies of books, exclusive copies of books and fun items for children. Supplies are limited.
There is a limit of 10 customers in-store at a time, and masks must be worn while shopping.
