Animas Valley Balloon Rally will take place Saturday to Sunday Oct. 17-18 at Hermosa Meadows Road.
The Friday night Downtown Balloon Glow has been canceled, but events will take place at Hermosa Meadows field Saturday and Sunday.
Mass ascensions will take place both days about 8 a.m. Only crew and sponsors will be allowed on the field. Parking will be available in the nearby meadows to view the ascensions from vehicles.
Saturday evening will feature a drive-by balloon glow at 6 p.m. at several locations.

HHH The Chile in October Challenge in Farmington asks participants to visit individual businesses to sample chile and get their chile passports signed this year. Sampling will take place through Oct. 24.
Participants can visit Aspen Leaf Frozen Yogurt, Boon’s Family Thai, Chile Pod, Juniper Cafe and Eatery, Lauter House Brewing Co., Los Hermanitos, Red Rocks Roadhouse, Si Senor Restaurant, Traegers and The Family Market and Restaurant.
Participants must visit at least five entries in order to vote for the People’s Choice Award. Those who visit all 10 businesses will be entered into a prize drawing.
Ballots must be turned in by 4 p.m. Oct. 28 to any participating business or to the Farmington Chamber of Commerce Office in the Quality Center for Business at San Juan College, 5101 College Blvd.
