Best bets this weekend in and around Durango

Best bets this weekend include a green chile festival in Ignacio and an arts festival in Durango.

The third annual Ignacio Chamber of Commerce Green Chile Festival will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Shoshone Park.

The event will feature green chile to sample, kids games, live music, beer, vendors and more. The green chile cook-off and salsa contest will begin at 3 p.m. All are welcome to enter.

Registration for the cornhole tournament will begin at 2:30 p.m. and the tournament will begin at 3 p.m. The registration fee is $30. Cash prizes will be awarded.

The Durango Autumn Arts Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday on East Second Avenue in downtown Durango.

The festival will feature fine art and fine crafts by makers from around the country. Music, food and drinks will also be available. Organized as a benefit event by and for the Durango Arts Center, the festival attracts a large audience throughout the weekend.

Jurors will select award winners based on visits to booths Saturday morning. Awards will be announced Saturday afternoon from the music stage.
