Monte Vista ended the Bayfield High School boys basketball team’s run in the Intermountain League Tournament with a 53-38 win Thursday in Monte Vista.
Dillon Hoselton led BHS (11-9, 5-3 IML) with eight points, while Conner Kennedy and Zane Phelps both scored six points.
Presley Garcia paced Monte Vista (14-6, 5-3 IML) with 16 points.
The Pirates will play the Alamosa Mean Moose at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the IML championship game.
BHS won’t play in the third-place game since Centauri won the IML regular-season title and is protected to regionals.
The Wolverines’ season is over because of the Falcons’ protection as the No. 2 team in the district by virtue of their regular-season title.
