Bayfield High School is honored to host the CHSAA Southwestern Regional Large Group Music Festival on Thursday in the Bayfield Performing Arts Center.
BHS will host 12 bands and six Choirs, with more than 650 young musicians participating. The festival is scheduled for Thursday, April 21.
"We will have some of the finest music programs in the state on our stage," said BHS music teacher Derek Smith, the festival director. "All the bands and choirs will play for a panel of highly qualified musician adjudicators, and receive ratings from I (Superior) through V. After performing prepared pieces on the stage, they will go to the vocal rehearsal room for sight reading. The performances are open to the public, and if you area available to support these fine regional musicians, feel free to stop by!"
Bayfield High School choir performs at 11:25 a.m., and the band plays at 4:10 p.m.
