Busses taking the Bayfield Marching Wolverines to Grand Junction received a big sendoff on Sunday as friends and family members gathered in the roundabout on CR 501 to cheer on the 61-member band.
The Bayfield Marching Wolverines had a strong performance at Monday morning's 1A semifinals at the Colorado Bandmasters Association State Championships. They now compete in the finals at 5:15 this afternoon. Bayfield competed against bands from Gunnison, La Junta, Estes Park, Cedaredge and Monte Vista Monday at Stocker Stadium in Grand Junction.
Semi-finals awards were announced at 12:15 today, and the top three bands in each class moved into the finals.
