In first-round Colorado 2A football playoff action on Friday night, Bayfield won 19-14 game against a scrappy Montezuma Cortez team that had stunned the Wolverines in the first half of the game, going into halftime with a 7-0 lead.
In the third and fourth quarters, however, the state champion team returned to its 2017 form and gutted out three touchdowns for the win.
