The varsity BHS Knowledge Bowl Team won their regional competition held at the school on Saturday.

This win qualifies them for the state meet in Colorado Springs on April 16-17.

Scoring 95 points in the varsity competition were Henry Walter, Ben Young, Mitchell McCloskey, and Nate Tate.  Ouray was second with 87, and Cortez was third with 82.  Also competing were Montrose, Durango, Pagosa, Dolores, and Ridgway. 

The junior varsity team of Tierzah Smith, Jessica Weinmeister, and Tory Tate placed second in the JV division.

'All the kids did a fantastic job and were very respectful and helpful,' said Knowledge Bowl Coach Tara Henderson. 'They represented Bayfield well.'
