Bayfield aced its final tuneup before Intermountain League play.
The Bayfield High School volleyball team beat Aztec 4-1 on Thursday night in Aztec. BHS (7-2) won 25-23, 25-22, 22-25, 25-15.
Kirstie Hillyer led the Wolverines with 18 kills and a .263 attack percentage.
Suzie Rhodes paced the offense with 36 assists.
Maddi Foutz had 32 digs and four service aces.
Caitlin Phelps, too, had four aces from the service line.
Tessa Powell “earned a respectable” eight kills on the night, too, her head coach Terene Foutz said in an email late Thursday night to The Durango Herald.
Katy Funkhouser had seven kills.
“BHS had a good serve-receive match,” Foutz said.
BHS will open IML play at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Alamosa.
