BHS Wolverettes performing in Colorado Springs

The BHS dance team is off to state!

Sort of.

The girls' team, which took second in 3A state dance and cheer this fall, will dance before the 3A title girls basketball game Saturday at the U.S. Air Force Academy.

"We're really excited," said Heather Kugle, one of the team captains. The girls will perform their award-winning routine from state to the song 300 Violin Orchestra. The teams that captured first and second place at state were invited to perform this weekend during the 3A tournament.

The team performed at an invitational in Farmington in February and didn't place against several 5A teams, but Kugle said the experience was rewarding, and a good preparation for another big performance.

"The other captains and I are super proud of our team," Kugle said. "We have grown so much this year." The other captains are Sahara Christensen and Amanda Kuster.

The Wolverettes are coached by Amy Whitmer.
