Having been a Herald subscriber for 25 years, I’ve been exposed to Bill Roberts’ editorial writings for almost his entire career. While I rarely agreed with a lot of his editorials, I have to give him credit for being fair and honest.
The Herald used to have regular get-togethers with readers participating in discussions on current events over coffee at various locations around town. Bill’s ability to lead these discussions and help to find common ground among the participants was impressive. I shall miss our off-the-record exchanges, and I wish him well in his well-deserved retirement.
With Ellen Stein taking over, I shall look forward to trading opinions with a person who cut her teeth in the Telluride political arena.
