Blame not useful, but Durango train must change

In response to Lynda Norton’s letter shaming us for blaming the train, I agree that blame is not a useful game and I too share gratitude for the firefighters.

Perhaps it is too risky for the train to take responsibility for causing the fire (exposure to lawsuits?), but the lack of assurance that this will be prevented in the future is what irks me.

I don’t care how authentic the coal-fired powering of the train is, the fuel is dirty and the consequences of this current and any future fires are too severe. Get out the diesel.

As for her statement that “the train....made Durango”! well, I’m sure other writers will have fun with that one.
