Blevins to miss Mont-Sainte Anne WC

Blunk also skipping stop to focus on world championships
Blevins

A week after winning his first World Cup short track race in Snowshoe, West Virginia, Durangoan Christopher Blevins of Specialized Factory Racing was set to race Friday in Mont-Sainte-Anne, Canada.

Blevins, however, was forced to pull out of the competition.

“Well, it’s my turn I guess. I woke up with some symptoms, and then got the two red lines,” Blevins posted Friday on Instagram in an apparent reference to COVID-19. “It goes without saying, but I’m real disappointed I won’t be racing tonight. This sport is a roller coaster, and you just have to embrace it and love it for the ups and downs. Completely set on being my best for World Champs.”

Fellow Durangoan Savilia Blunk of the Orange Seal Off-Road Team is also skipping the World Cup stop so she can focus on training for the world championships., which will be held Aug. 22-28 in Les Gets, France.
