Bureau of Land Management offices in New Mexico are offering online personal Christmas tree permit sales to harvest piñon and juniper.
Permits are available through Dec. 23 and cost $5 per tree. Permits will be available only online this year at www.forestproducts.blm.gov.
When purchasing online, have access to a printer for printing the permit and map. The public must attach the haul tag provided with the permit to any tree removed from BLM managed lands.
The BLM has developed geo-referenced maps compatible with any geo-referenced map mobile application. For instructions about how to download a map to a smartphone, visit www.blm.gov/maps/georeferenced-PDFs.
For more information, call Jack River at (505) 954-2190, a local BLM office or the BLM New Mexico State Office at (505) 954-2222.
