The first total lunar eclipse of 2014 as seen Tuesday morning high above Durango. It was the first of a tetrad of lunar eclipses in 2014 and 2015; the next one being Oct. 8. This eclipse was what some term a “blood moon” because of the intense red color caused when sunlight is bent by the Earth’s atmosphere.
