The board of Animas High School has named a wing of the school for Jesse Hutt, a founder and AHS parent.
Hutt, a pediatrician who specializes in oncology, also is credited, along with Gisele Pansze, a counselor in private practice, of turning a concept into a real functioning school.
Animas High now in its sixth year, has 315 students and has had two graduating classes.
Last year, the school dedicated the other wing to a founder and current head of school Michael Ackerman.
A dedication for the Hutt wing is planned.
