Boating-safety class to be offered

A class to explain Colorado-boating regulations and overall water safety will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon June 17 and July 22 at the Durango Fire Protection District training facility, 142 Sheppard Drive.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife boating-safety teacher Michael Badger, a former firefighter and paramedic, will teach the class.

The class is open to all experience levels. It will be especially helpful for beginners and will cover legal requirements, regulations, navigation, boat-handling and more.

Registration is $15 per person. All proceeds will support the Parks and Wildlife boating-safety program.
