A tough test from Belen (N.M.) proved too much for the Ignacio High School girls basketball team to handle.
Belen topped the Bobcats 59-31 on Thursday in the first round of the Lady Bronco Invitational in Kirtland, N.M.
Statistics and Friday’s schedule weren’t immediately available.
The Bobcats fell to 1-6 on the young season and are amid a four-game losing streak since a win 41-23 win at Montezuma-Cortez on Dec. 7.
Belen, meanwhile, improved to 7-2 and improved its winning streak to three games.
Ignacio will play in Kirtland the next two days before returning home Jan. 18 to open San Juan League play against Dove Creek.
