The town of Ignacio announced Tuesday that a water main break that occurred Feb. 14 has been repaired.

A town representative with the clerk/treasurer’s office did not specify what caused the main to break but said water testing has been completed and that water restrictions have been lifted.

Ignacio and the Southern Ute Indian Tribe previously advised community members to boil water before consuming it for safety reasons.

The town said it could not release any more information as of Tuesday.

The leak was contained on Feb. 15. Areas impacted were from Pioneer Street to Navajo Street, as well as properties from Ute Street to Browning Avenue. The water main also covers portions of county roads 320, 320A and 320B. About four total blocks were affected.

According to a news release from the Southern Ute Indian Tribe, the leak was located at the intersection of Ute Street and Browning Avenue.
