Durango Botanical Society will hold a seminar titled “Learning about our Pollinators” from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave.
The seminar will address the current local bee community, the decline in bees and how local gardeners can help. Speakers will include Tina Sebestyen, Colorado Bee Association vice president and Four Corners Beekeepers Association founder; Ted Creighton, Colorado master gardener and local bee expert; and Carol Tyrrell, a Colorado master gardener who specializes in honey bee nutrition.
Registration, in advance and at the door, is $10 for society members and $15 for nonmembers. Proceeds will go to the new botanical tree gardens on the north side of Durango Public Library.
