Boutique Air starts Cortez flights this weekend

Grand opening planned in next few months
This Swiss Air Force Pilatus PC-12 is similar to ones used by Boutique Air in Cortez.

Boutique Air flights from Cortez to Denver and Phoenix started this weekend.

The airline will offer three daily flights from the Cortez Municipal Airport to Denver and one to Phoenix starting Saturday. Prices start at $59 one-way, and $149 refundable tickets also are available, according to the Boutique Air website. Flights with Great Lakes Airlines will stop on Sunday.

Passengers are permitted to take a personal item, such as a backpack or purse, as well as a carry-on bag, according to the website.

Additional baggage must be 9 by 10 by 17 inches or smaller, and total weight of all baggage must not exceed 50 pounds per passenger.

If passengers have another flight to a destination other than Denver or Phoenix, they will have to retrieve their bags and take them to the next airline’s gate. Boutique Air officials are recommending passengers arrive to the airport 45 minutes before departure, airport manager Russ Machen said.

Boutique is planning a grand opening event sometime in the next few months.
